Description

Written by Canadian Armed Forces veteran Larry Gray, Canadians in the Battle of the Atlantic examines the longest conflict of World War II over control of the Atlantic ocean. This book focuses on the Canadian perspective and includes many facts about the dates and names of serving ships and people. In several instances a full scene with dialogue is presented, which adds a human element to the large-scale events. The index focuses heavily on names, so it could be an excellent resource for highlighting individuals. A general list of sources is included at the end of the book, however there are no citations. While this text could be used to reinforce lessons on World War II events or provide a launching point for further research on a serviceperson, it also could be used nearing Remembrance Day to remind learners of the individuals involved in conflicts and the cost to them.
