Little Women’s Lodge Kit

This kit features four storybooks, a CD of the stories read aloud, and a Cree Women in Song CD with a lyric booklet—making it a complete multimedia experience showcasing Woodland Cree teachings around childhood and parenting. Each book is written in Cree (both Standard Roman Orthography and syllabics) with English translations, and each spread features short phrases alongside brightly coloured illustrations. The vivid images make this an excellent choice for storytimes, and the inclusion of the read-aloud CD will allow emerging readers to improve their solo reading. A teacher’s guide is available to help educators add an Indigenous perspective to their classrooms. Woodland Cree dialect learners may also find this resource useful, given its bilingual format.
