- Description
Frank is a fictional murder mystery set around the historical 1903 landslide in Frank, Alberta, that killed more than 100 people. Despite its historical setting, the language used is accessible to modern readers, and with its vibrant artwork, this graphic novel is a very engaging read. While this work could certainly be used in English lessons to discuss writing a fictional storyline around true events, it could also support lessons on the Frank Slide as part of Alberta’s history. The illustrations include some interesting artistic choices (for example, two characters stare daggers at each other) that could be explored within art lessons.
