Duty, Honour & Izzat: From Golden Fields to Crimson – Punjab’s Brothers in Arms in Flanders

Duty, Honour & Izzat is a photo-realistic, scrapbook-style book focusing on the history of the Indo-Canadian experience. The first of the book’s three parts is a graphic novel of a young boy hearing stories of his great grandfather’s experience during World War II. This book presents an often untold piece of Canadian and international history in an engaging and informative format. Covering the Punjabi contribution to both World Wars, as well as other international conflicts, the illustrations show a realistic but not glorifying view of military actions. Packed with accurate historical detail, the extensive illustrations could also be used in art classes.
