- Description
During the COVID-19 pandemic, a group of seven writers created a collection of short scenes exploring themes of past, future, and identity. Written in a standard script format, the scenes in Many Mothers, Seven Skies showcase the talent of award-winning women authors, many with ties to Alberta and some who write from an Indigenous perspective. Each contribution includes an artist’s statement to provide context, as many scenes were inspired by events in the writers’ own lives. These brief scenes require only limited settings and can be used in English language arts or drama classes, either as a collection or individually. They could also inspire learners to write their own short dramatic pieces, based on their personal experiences.
