- Description
Flight Risk is a play that explores the impacts of war and aging, based on interviews with veterans from Alberta’s seniors’ homes and their care staff. In addition to the play, with its humour and realistic dark elements, this book includes complementary essays that feature photos and other stories. Most of the scenes in Braem’s play require around three characters, so scenes could easily be assigned to small groups of learners to perform in drama classes. Because this piece is anchored in real events and experiences, it could also lend itself to use in social studies lessons about exploring the human consequences of war and the loss of connection between generations.
